In this course, we will read and discuss a range of pieces in a particular genre, and use these as a springboard for our own writing.

This term, we will read and discuss short stories, learn more about the short story form, and use these stories to inspire our own writing.

In class, there will be writing prompts around the themes and content of the stories, in which you will be free to write in any style you wish.

Between sessions, you can develop the writing you start in class, or may choose instead to try out the short story form yourself, aiming to work on your own short story over the course of the term.

We will also share our writing for feedback in small groups.
